Artist Release Form

July 1, 2011 | By | Reply More

Whenever an artist’s work is displayed in public, filling out an Artist release form is mandatory to prevent any legal hassles later. Consider for example a famous artist’s painting, a half hour episode of a famous comic, a photographer’s work that needs to be released in a magazine. In all such scenarios the artist/painter/photographer holds exclusive rights over his works and he needs to sign a waiver for them to be used by a third party. He/she also agrees to modifications and alterations in case the image needs to be printed or displayed on a billboard or a t-shirt or a mug. One he/she hands over the rights to the image he/she will no longer have a say in how it is used.
